What is the status of cleaning at the Pinnacle Storage Facility?

Most of the building – the basement and floors 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 – have been cleaned and tenants have been notified that they may re-enter units on those floors. The units on floors 3 and 6 where anthrax was detected remain sealed and are being cleaned. We hope and anticipate all residents will be able to get back in to the building as soon as Monday, March 13, but additional time may be needed. Once cleaning of these units is complete, common areas on floors 3 and 6 will be cleaned and tenants will be notified as soon as possible when they can return.

Last week, we were told the entire building would be open in 3–5 days. What has changed?

Further assessment of the 3rd and 6th floor ventilation systems is ongoing. The extent of cleaning needed is still being determined. Timing for re-entry into the 3rd and 6th floor also depends on post cleaning sampling. If positive tests occur after cleaning, additional cleaning may be needed, which means extending the timeline for re-occupancy. We are working as quickly as possible to get you back into your space as soon as it is properly cleaned.

How will we be notified of the status of 3rd and 6th floor?

An automated daily status report will be available by calling 212-442-2640. We will also share this information with building management. If you have any additional questions about the cleaning or other issues, please direct them the appropriate number below.

Key contact numbers for tenants:
