Who should join the Navigator Program Network?

Navigators, case workers, healthcare providers, healthcare administrators, and ANYONE interested in participating in the exchange of ideas to make colon cancer screening an easier and more informed process for the patient.

Why become a member?

There are no obligations to being a member of the network and you can opt-out of having your contact information included in the directory. You also have access to a wealth of information and opportunities which include:

  • Training programs and seminars to enhance skills relevant to running effective navigator programs such as coaching and also provide opportunities to “shadow” staff in other institutions
  • Roundtable discussions to encourage problem-solving regarding specific challenges and effective successes among member institutions.
  • Brief email program alerts which will included topical information to advance your programs:
    • journal articles
    • research on patient navigation, including research from the New York City Health Department's unique navigator database
    • training opportunities throughout NYC DOHMH and other institutions
    • meetings (national and local)
    • funding opportunities
    • services for patients such as resources for low cost bowel prep
  • Mini-conferences organized by the network to examine program challenges, such as how to formulate a business case for your program.
  • Discussion boards to provide online space for members to identify and explore topics of interest, for instance:
    • Defining patient navigation
    • Potential research collaborations
  • Membership directory
  • New York City Health Department Cancer Publications
  • Unique tools and other documents
Who is in the network?
