The Public Health/Preventive Medicine Residency Program trains physicians in health promotion and disease prevention at the population level. Residents combine field experience at the Health Department with study toward the Master of Public Health degree at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, acquiring epidemiologic, administrative and clinical skills needed to understand and reduce the risks of disease, disability and death.

This Program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and leads to eligibility for Board Certification in Public Health/Preventive Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
