Our Mission
The
Fund for Public Health in New
York, Inc. (FPHNY) is dedicated to the advancement of the health and
well-being of all New York
City residents. Towards this aim, FPHNY implements
programs to address pressing public health needs, develops private sector
support for enhancing the health of New Yorkers, and educates New Yorkers about
the role they can play in protecting their own health and the health of their
families and communities.
FPHNY is DOHMH's closely affiliated
non-profit organization, as defined by the rules of the NYC Conflict of Interest
Board. It was created to work in partnership with the DOHMH and to be uniquely
tailored and dedicated to combining the resources and efficiencies of the
private sector with the capacity and scale of public sector action in service of
public health. As only a closely affiliated partner can, FPHNY is able to tap
the expertise and leadership of the DOHMH and its staff in its work to develop,
raise funds for, and administer important grant funded public health
programs.
