Financing Statements (UCC)
The City Register records Financing Statements (UCC) that document a security
interest against cooperative apartments, fixture filings, timber to be cut,
or mining rights.
A UCC is filed with the City Register using the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS)

How long does a UCC remain filed?
An initial UCC-1 that is filed against a co-op apartment, accompanied by an addendum, is effective for 50 years from the date of filing. UCC fixture filings are effective for 5 years from the date of filing, unless a UCC-3 continuation is filed.
A UCC cannot be removed once it is filed. It may be terminated by filing a UCC-3 termination form.
Requirements
The City Register accepts only those Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) financing
statements that perfect a security interest against cooperative apartments,
fixture filings, timber to be cut, or mining rights, as extracted collateral.
The applicable block(s) and lot(s) must also be noted on all financing statements.
All other UCCs must be filed with the NYS
