In April 2008, Commissioner LiMandri announced an intensive, in-depth review of high-risk construction activities, including crane, hoist, concrete and excavation operations in response to an increase in construction accidents.

From the High-Risk Construction Oversight Study (HRCO), 41 recommendations were developed to strengthen the safety and oversight of these activities. Currently, the Department is in the process of implementing these recommendations.
