STATEMENT FROM BUILDINGS COMMISSIONER ROBERT LIMANDRI ON COURT OF APPEALS DECISION TO DISMISS ARCHITECT ROBERT SCARANO’S APPEAL SEEKING TO REINSTATE HIS DEPARTMENT FILING PRIVILEGES

“Today’s decision sends a clear message that there are serious consequences for those who flout the law to make a profit. In his attempts to circumvent the City’s Building Code and Zoning Resolution, Mr. Scarano showed a disregard for the laws that ensure safety and quality of life for all New Yorkers. Since 2008, 26 licensed professionals have lost their filing privileges with the Department. I would like to thank the Law Department and my staff for the work they do to hold licensed professionals accountable for their actions.”
