Concrete Safety Manager
To promote safer concrete operations, beginning January 1, 2009, a concrete safety manager must be designated on all "major buildings" (as defined by the New NYC Construction Codes) during the concrete portion of the project. The Department is currently reviewing curriculum submissions for the required

Construction Superintendent Registration
Construction Superintendent registration is underway. Individuals who would like to become a Registered Construction Superintendent must submit the LIC-3 and LIC-4 form to the Licensing Unit. For training, view the list of Buildings-approved schools. To learn more, view the Rule 48 text, the

Filling Representative/ Professional Registration
The Department issues identification cards to filing representatives and professionals to conduct business with the Department. Filling Representatives and professionals can obtain a registration application at the Licensing Unit (280 Broadway, 6th Floor). The filing representative registration includes a background investigation. To learn more read

General Contractor Registration
To promote public safety and ensure construction work is performed by insured general contractors, all contractors who build one-, two-, and three-family homes will be required to register with the Buildings Department to obtain New Building permits. Safety Registration
To better monitor safety and compliance records, beginning October 1, 2009, individuals and organizations performing or supervising certain construction projects, including new building and demolition jobs, will be required to have a new Safety Registration Number. The Department will begin accepting applications for Safety Registration Numbers in Spring 2009. View the

Journeyman Plumber/Fire Suppression Piping Installer
Journeyman Plumbers and Journeyman Fire Suppression Piping Installers are now being registered by the Buildings Department. Starting on July 1, 2009, Journeyman applicants may begin the
