Testimony of Speakers City Council Hearing
on Intro 478(A) before the Housing and Buildings Committee
June 24, 2005

On June 24, 2005, the Housing and Buildings Committee of the New York City Council held a hearing on Intro 478(A) - a bill to adopt the International Building Code and related family of I-Codes with New York City modifications as the new Building Code for New York City. The bill also contains the complete International Plumbing Code as amended for the City, and administrative provisions that address Department operations.

Speaking before a room jammed packed with construction workers, architects, engineers, and civic leaders, dozens offered their testimony on Intro 478(A). The Department of Buildings wishes to thank all of the individuals and organizations that provided testimony. We appreciate their continued commitment to public safety and support in aiding this effort to help New York City maintain its role as the business, economic and cultural capital of the world."
