On Friday, January 31, Department of Homeless Services’ (DHS) Assistant Commissioner for Street Solutions, Danielle Minelli-Pagnotta, and Associate Commissioner of Shelter Operations, Jody Rudin, joined non-profit provider, BronxWorks for a luncheon celebrating the Street to Home program.
This year, Fortune 1000 company, Mutual of America, recognized the outreach program as a Merit Finalist for its 2013 Community Partnership Award. Other program partners were also acknowledged, including the Montefiore Medical Center and Care for the Homeless.
The Street to Home program in the Bronx has evolved over the last 18 years, now offering 24/7 assistance through a mobile outreach van. Engaging individuals regularly, these teams help street homeless individuals transition into a variety of housing options. BronxWorks has been a strong partner in DHS’ own around-the-clock, comprehensive outreach program.
The Mutual of America Community Partnership Award annually honors the outstanding contributions that 10 nonprofit organizations, in collaboration with public, private and other social sector organizations, make to society. Since its inception in 1996, the Community Partnership Award has recognized 180 partnerships from cities and towns all across America.
Founded in 1972, BronxWorks continually strives to reduce poverty and make a positive impact on neighborhoods throughout the Bronx.
