Great City, Great Service

On Wednesday, October 23, Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Commissioner Michele Ovesey joined Mayor Bloomberg and other City Commissioners in celebrating Customer Service Week — the City’s annual recognition of the customer service professionals who serve the City every day.  Commissioner Ovesey was proud to be on hand as DHS employee Kalen Mena, a member of the agency’s Prevention, Policy and Planning Division, received a Mayor’s Excellence in Customer Service Award. Stationed at Bronx Housing court, Kalen was commended for her excellent work in linking households to Homebase prevention and anti-eviction services. DHS will hold a special luncheon on Friday, November 8 to thank Kalen and other DHS customer service awardees. They include:
