The following organizations specifically serve the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender community.  Most offer links to other resources as well as direct services and social and recreational activities.

SAGE-Services and Advocacy for LGBT Elders is a citywide program that offers dozens of activities, programs and services for LGBT seniors. Its brand-new full-time senior center is open every day and serves dinner every evening. In addition to a wide range of social, health, cultural and educational activities, SAGE has a clinical and social services program providing counseling and case management on-site, by telephone and in the home. Griot Circle is an intergenerational and culturally diverse community-based organization serving older LGBT persons, especially elders of color. Griot Circle is located at 25 Flatbush Avenue, 5th floor in Brooklyn. Call 718-246-2775.

The LGBT Community Center is the largest LGBT multi-service organization on the East Coast and second-largest LGBT center in the world.  The center provides social services, public policy, educational and cultural/recreational services. The Empire State Pride Agenda Foundation is a network of nonprofit LGBT organizations that provides health and social services to LGBT New Yorkers, including youth, seniors, people of color, and women. The Network focuses on non-HIV-related services, such as primary and preventive care, crime victim assistance, family counseling, and education. God’s Love We Deliver provides home-delivered meals, grocery bags, nutrition counseling and more for persons living with HIV/AIDS and other life-altering illnesses. The U.S. Administration on Aging created the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging, the first national clearinghouse of its kind, in partnership with SAGE in October 2010.   The site provides information and resources addressing a variety of LGBT aging topics.
