Notice of Public Information Meetings on the Catskill and Delaware Water Supply Systems

THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION (NYCDEP) intends to hold public information meetings to present and describe studies of plans for filtration of the Catskill and Delaware water supply systems. Although filtration avoidance has been granted for the City's Catskill and Delaware Water Supplies, the May 1997 Filtration Avoidance Determination does require the City to proceed with plans for the design and construction of a water treatment facility. The City is required to select a site and prepare preliminary designs and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) by December 2000.

The Public information meetings will be held as follows:

February 25, 1999
