Wetlands Workshop at Mt. Pleasant

A Wetlands Workshop will be held at the Mount Pleasant Town Hall on Tuesday, June 16th. Sponsored by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Westchester County Department of Planning, this educational workshop will include a slide presentation on wetlands in the watershed of New York City's water supply system, information on restoration projects being sponsored by the Westchester County Soil and Water Conservation District, and a discussion of how one Westchester town enforces their local wetland ordinance through use of a Wetland Inspector. Anyone interested in the natural world of wetlands, in the preservation of wetlands, or in f development of properties containing wetlands is encouraged to attend. The program is open to the public and free of charge. Participants will receive a copy of "Wetlands in the Watersheds of the New York City Water Supply System," a publication prepared for DEP by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
