Route 55A to be Closed for Bridge Work on Oct. 12

Six-hour closure will allow for placement of structural steel at Lows Corners Bridge

What:

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection announced that it will close Route 55A to all traffic for six hours on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The road closure will allow workers to safely install structural steel associated with the replacement of Lows Corners Bridge at the head of Rondout Reservoir. The road will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Local elected officials, schools, police, fire and other emergency responders have been informed of the temporary closure.

Temporary signs will be posted at both ends of the road several days ahead of time to inform motorists of the closure. Traffic will be detoured onto Route 55.
