Fifth Annual “Take a Child Fishing Day” At Kensico Reservoir on September 16

Commissioner Emily Lloyd of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced today that the DEP is joining with the Kensico Environmental Enhancement Program (KEEP) to sponsor the 5TH annual “Take a Child Fishing Day” at Louden Cove at the Kensico Reservoir in Westchester.

The event will take place on September 16 from 10 AM to 1 PM.  Bait will be generously donated by Bob’s Sport & Tackle, though participants will have to supply their own rod and reel.  Reservations are also required to be made by September 14.  Call DEP at (914) 773-4553 for reservations.

“We hope that ‘Take a Child Fishing Day’ will help local residents have a great time while they learn more about the Kensico Reservoir,” said Commissioner Lloyd.  “I want to thank KEEP for their co-sponsorship as well as Bob’s for donating the bait.  I’m sure everyone will have a great time at this beautiful location.”
