Kensico Dam Plaza Display Panels Unveiled

New educational display panels were unveiled on Friday at the Kensico Dam Plaza by Commissioner Joel A. Miele Sr., P.E., of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and Angelo Spillo and Elizabeth Sluder of the Kensico Environmental Enhancement Program (KEEP). DEP and KEEP collaborated on the panels, which describe construction of the new Kensico Dam in 1917, the City's upstate Water Supply System, and ways that people can protect the Kensico Reservoir basin from pollution. Many Westchester communities, as well as over eight million City residents, rely on the Kensico Reservoir for their drinking water.
