Women's History Month – Deborah Keesler
For Deborah Keesler, water is something of a family tradition. With three generations of water-well drillers behind her, and a childhood spent in the East of Hudson Watershed, her position at DEP comes almost naturally. Since 1992, she has served as Senior Project Manager for the Catskill/Delaware Water Filtration and UV Disinfection Facilities, a dynamic role that has frequently seen her at the forefront of the engineering industry, working with a range of innovative technologies.
As an engineer with a B.E. from Cooper Union and graduate work in Public Administration from Pace University, Deborah has been honored with “Young Engineer of the Year” Awards from the Met Section, American Society of Civil Engineers and the New York State Section, Society of Professional Engineers.
A lifetime member of the Society of Women Engineers and Girl Scouts USA, this daughter of a woman who worked in public health and granddaughter of two working women hopes she can continue to be a strong role model for her many cousins and son Cary.
