Women's History Month – Carol Brooks
For Carol Brooks, “learning is a lifelong process.” After graduating from the University of Vermont, Carol worked for CBS News and then New Jersey State Government before joining DEP in the Office of Contract Management. Her early work at DEP provided her with exposure to the Agency Procurement process and encouraged her to pursue a further degree. For two years, Carol worked and studied full-time, graduating with an MBA from Baruch College in 1993. This busy schedule provided Carol with “the best training of my life.”
Currently, Carol serves as Executive Manager for the Bureau of Customer Services, where she assists the Deputy Commissioner with day-to-day customer services issues and is in the midst of performing a comprehensive management study to benchmark Bureau performance and generate ideas for improving DEP customer service practices.
Carol’s advice to younger generations is to “take your time and enjoy your youth, but don’t lose sight of your educational goals.”
