Project Description

Plum Brook Bridge is located in the Town of Somers, Westchester County. The proposed action consists of replacement of the existing 105' Bridge span with a truss bridge. The existing two lane Bridge was closed in 1998 to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to severe structural deterioration. The existing 21'-8" wide Bridge would be removed, and a new 30'-8" wide truss structure would be constructed in the same location as the existing Bridge. The reconstructed Bridge will meet current New York State Department of Transportation standards. Following construction, the existing Plum Brook Road, a public two lane thoroughfare, would be reopened to the traveling public providing a safer passage between Routes NYS 100 and NYS 138. This project is anticipated to last 24 months.
