Watershed Forestry Bus Tour Program

Applications are due January 15, 2013.

The Watershed Agricultural Council's Forestry Program, in partnership with DEP, is offering grants of up to $3,000 for watershed-and-forestry field trips to the New York City water supply watersheds, east and west of the Hudson River. Programs can be for single day or overnight trips.

Grants are available to schools for 4-12th grade student trips, colleges and universities, youth groups, and other organizations within New York City or the Catskill/Delaware and Croton watersheds.

In 2012, schools and community organizations explored the watersheds through bus tour programs that included a day trip for teens from Rocking the Boat who visited the Ashokan Center, 4th grade students from Stamford Central School and PS 33 in Manhattan who explored the watershed and new York City together, and teachers and students involved in Trout in the Classroom who received funding to release their trout in watershed streams in Westchester County.
