July 2008 Educator’s Open House at the Queens Museum of Art
Educators learn about the exhibit A Watershed Moment: Celebrating the Homecoming of The Relief Map of the New York City Water Supply System.
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Queens Museum of Art held an open house for nonformal educators on July 17, 2008. The group was introduced to the exhibits A Watershed Moment: Celebrating the Homecoming of The Relief Map of the New York City Water Supply System as well as the Mountaintop to Tap Watershed Trek: Photographs and journal entries capturing the 200—mile journey of 12 high school students as they follow the path of New York City’s drinking water. During the open house, educators shared environmental education resources and exchanged ideas of how these exhibits complement their water curriculum.
