The New York City Department of Environmental Protection invites you to attend our Valentine’s Day Digester Egg Tour at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. Tours are free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. To view available times and to register for a tour, please complete the short form below. Please note you may only register one name and one email address per form. The form will not allow you to register more than one person.
The Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is home to eight futuristic stainless steel-clad digesters that play a critical role in New York City’s wastewater treatment process. The tour includes an overview of the wastewater treatment process and a visit to the observation deck atop the eggs, where you will be treated to an unobstructed view of the iconic Manhattan skyline.
All guests are required to sign a release form at the beginning of the tour. Guests under 18 must have a release form signed by a parent or a guardian. Sorry, no children under 12 are allowed.
The Digester Egg Tour begins at the Visitor Center at Newtown Creek, located at 329 Greenpoint Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. Enter at the intersection of Greenpoint Avenue and Humboldt Street. For directions, click here.
