Earth Day Digester Egg Tour

at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection invites you to attend our Earth Day Digester Egg Tour at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility. Tours are free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. To view available times and to register for a tour, please complete the short form below. Please note you may only register one distinct name and email address per form. The form will not allow you to register more than one person. You may register for more than one person, but each registration must be made on its own form, with its own distinct name and email address. Duplicate registrations will be removed.

The Newtown Creek Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility is home to eight futuristic stainless steel-clad digesters that play a critical role in New York City’s wastewater treatment process. The tour includes an overview of the wastewater treatment process and a visit to the observation deck atop the eggs, where you will be treated to an unobstructed view of the iconic Manhattan skyline.

All guests are required to sign a release form at the beginning of the tour. Guests under 18 must have a release form signed by a parent or a guardian. Sorry, no children under 12 are allowed.

The Digester Egg Tour begins at the Visitor Center at Newtown Creek, located at 329 Greenpoint Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. Enter at the intersection of Greenpoint Avenue and Humboldt Street.
