Overview

Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility for the Catskill-Delaware Water system. The UV plant will provide secondary disinfection for Cat-Del water, which is currently treated with chlorine before entering the in-City distribution system.

Schedule

Construction of the Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility will be completed in 2013.

Cost

Project cost $1.6 Billion.

Community Issues

The 160,000-sq-ft facility, along with office and laboratories, is being built on city-owned property within the towns of Mount Pleasant and Greenburgh, in Westchester County. The above-ground portion of the building is constructed of structural steel with a precast façade and stainless-steel roof.
