Customer Assistance Programs

DEP has a number of assistance and outreach programs, including community meetings, assistance programs, special incentives, and useful brochures.





Home Water Assistance Program
Qualified one- to four- family homeowners who received the Home Energy Assistance Program Regular Heating Benefit for the 2015-2016 heating season, the Senior Citizen Homeowners’ Exemption as of June 2016, or the Disabled Homeowners’ Exemption as of June 2016, received a non-refundable credit of $115.89 on June 28, 2017. The program was expanded to include Enhanced School Tax Relief participants with incomes less than $50,000 as of Tax Year 2016. Qualified homeowners will receive a non-refundable credit of $115.89 by early 2018.

Multi-family Water Assistance Program
Qualified Housing Preservation and Development or Housing Development Corporation-assisted affordable multi-family housing projects can receive a $250 credit per residential unit on their water and sewer bill(s) on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is limited.

Water Debt Assistance Program
Water Debt Assistance Program is a new initiative that will temporarily relieve qualified homeowners who are at risk of mortgage foreclosure of past-due water and sewer debt.
