DEM’s Office of Energy Efficiency Projects is responsible for managing and facilitating a comprehensive program to install highly energy efficient equipment and systems throughout City of New York owned and operated facilities. This program and the retrofit and retro commissioning projects that stem from it are managed by DEM, as part of compliance under Local Law 87. DEM works closely with client agencies, contractors and the Department of Design and Construction (DDC) to engineer and construct projects, including providing project oversight and management of the budget.
