Design Consultant Guide
The Design Consultant Guide describes all the design phases of a DDC Public Buildings' project, as well as all of the services and deliverables that may be required in those phases. It also includes a description of our expectations in the Design Criteria section, and guidance on the approvals our consultants may be required to obtain in the regulatory approvals section. The general information and forms section has vital information on doing business with us. This document is part of the contract with design consultants.

DDC is responsible for approximately one billion dollars worth of construction in New York City every year. This volume mandates that we take responsibility for the many ways New Yorkers interact with the built environment. With the publication of Water Matters, DDC is once again reaffirming our commitment to the greater, greener New York conceived by PlaNYC 2030 and to making the visionary blueprint a concrete reality.

High Performance Infrastructure Guidelines
This guidebook was published in conjunction with the Design Trust for Public Space, and details sustainable strategies, called “best management practices,” to be used in road, site and water management projects. Called right–of-way infrastructure projects, they affect environmental, social, and economic factors in the city. Our Guidelines are intended for planners, designers, engineers, public officials, as well as for DDC staff.

This guidebook was the most recognized first step taken in what is now a heralded sustainable program for buildings in New York City.
