	As a leader in the fields of design and construction, DDC believes hallmarks of a successful public works program are education and evaluation. As such, we regularly issue books, guidelines, and brochures that detail the extensive research, development, and implementation of our programs and initiatives. Our publications guide our consultants to successfully navigate the City’s design and construction requirements; detail important sustainable strategies; showcase our Design and Construction Excellence policies; and review valued information essential to the design of public facilities. In addition to our publications, we are also providing links to related materials by other New York City agencies involved in the design and construction of capital projects. 		Design + Construction Excellence: How the City is Improving its Capital Program 2008 DDC leads the citywide Design and Construction Excellence program, working in tandem with City Hall and other City agencies to ensure the program's success. This publication is our third report on Design and Construction Excellence, and it reviews and explains the policy changes we have implemented, as well as some of our resulting designs currently on the boards or in construction. 		2006 Agency Brochure To keep our client agencies, consultants and constituents informed of new programs and projects, DDC issued an agency brochure in 2006. It provides a snapshot of our finances and details the high-quality work we provide to our clients. 		Design Consultant Guide The Design Consultant Guide describes all the design phases of a DDC structures project, as well as all of the services and deliverables that may be required in those phases. It also includes a description of our expectations in the Design Criteria section, and guidance on the approvals our consultants may be required to obtain in the regulatory approvals section. 		Universal Design New York 2 DDC is responsible for approximately one billion dollars worth of construction in New York City every year. This volume mandates that we take responsibility for the many ways New Yorkers interact with the built environment. 	Sustainable Guides: High Performance Infrastructure Guidelines \| High Performance Building Guidelines
		High Performance Infrastructure Guidelines This guidebook was published in conjunction with the Design Trust for Public Space, and details sustainable strategies, called “best management practices,” to be used in road, site and water management projects. Called right–of-way infrastructure projects, they affect environmental, social, and economic factors in the city. Our Guidelines are intended for planners, designers, engineers, public officials, as well as for DDC staff. 2005 Download PDF
		High Performance Building Guidelines This guidebook was the most recognized first step taken in what is now a heralded sustainable program for buildings in New York City. These guidelines review sustainable strategies in the indoor environment, in site design, in water management, in material and product selection, and much more.
