Children's Library Discovery Center
1100 Architect

The new 22,000 square-foot Children’s Library Discovery Center provides a hands-on experience that inspires and educates its users. Design for the new space incorporates a glazed and glowing glass façade, which introduces the CLDC as a cultural destination for the community. The permeable facade allows for an abundance of natural light to enter the building, and the interior wall has cutout niches and window seats that highlight the connection between the exterior and interior. Working in collaboration with The Exploratorium and Lee Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership, the CLDC is a hybrid science museum and children’s library experience.
