This project will improve the infrastructure facilities for a large portion of the Cobble Hill area. Work to be performed includes reconstruction of the roadway, installation of water mains, new storm and sanitary sewers, catch basins, fire hydrants, sidewalks, curbs and pedestrian ramps. Other project improvements include new street lighting, landscaping and bike paths. Traffic lights will also be updated. As part of the Department of Cultural Affairs Percent for Art Program, artist Nobuho Nagasawa created Timecast which will depict shadows of newly planted saplings etched into bluestone on the sidewalk. The Art Commission of the City of New York honored this project with an Excellence in Design award in 2007.
