Columbus Circle Manhattan The Columbus Circle reconstruction project included the development of a new streetscape designed to improve vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow, replacement of water mains, rehabilitation of sewers and installation of a new reinforced concrete roadway. Work at the historic site also included installation of a new fountain, installation of granite curbs and sidewalks, distinctive wooden benches and plantings.
