New York City may need to provide removable/reusable Interim Housing Units (IHU) at unprecedented speed and scale following a catastrophic event. The IHU would be a critical bridge between emergency shelter and permanent housing. To determine whether sufficient market interest exists for a future solicitation, the City’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and Department of Design and Construction (DDC) have prepared a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) for design, manufacture, and provision of post-disaster interim housing for high density urban areas. In the event there is sufficient interest, OEM and DDC may, but are not obligated to, initiate a Request for Proposals (RFP).
Detailed submission guidelines and requirements are included in the RFEI which is available for download. Responses are due no later than 4 pm, Friday, September 11, 2009. Interested vendors are asked to use the Contact RFEI link to submit questions or request clarifications and are asked to revisit this site to check RFEI Questions and Answers. All related questions should be submitted no later than 4 pm, Friday, August 21 and answers to relevant questions will be posted by Friday, September 4.
