A Special Exhibit on the Sheridan-Hunts Point Land Use and Transportation Planning Study will be on display at 22 Reade Street, from 8 am to 6 pm, November 14 - December 23; the exhibit includes a virtual tour of the area and a scale model of the expressway. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Due to the severe weather predicted, the tour of the Sheridan Expressway and Hunts Point scheduled for tomorrow, July 23rd at 11:00 AM has been rescheduled. The tour will take place on Saturday, August 20th at 11:00 AM instead. All other details, such as the tour's starting point and route, remain the same.

The Department of City Planning is leading a community visioning process as part of an interdisciplinary study of the Sheridan Expressway and surrounding area, with special attention paid to Hunts Point access. The planning work was awarded a $1.5 million TIGER II grant from the US Department of Transportation in 2010. The planning work will help the city and state identify the best possible set of investments and improvements to the Bronx highway system and the complementary economic, zoning and housing plans for the surrounding communities.
