The Department of City Planning seeks approval of a zoning text change and zoning map change for a proposed Special Enhanced Commercial District 2 ("EC-2") and Special Enhanced Commercial District 3 ("EC-3") on Manhattan's Upper West Side in Community District 7. The proposed Special Districts, together with the proposed text change, would reinforce the existing retail and commercial character of the Upper West Side by regulating street frontage and mandating a minimum amount of transparency to ensure an active and dynamic pedestrian experience.

Department of City Planning proposes a Citywide zoning text amendment to remove zoning impediments to the construction and retrofitting of greener buildings. This proposal would give owners more choices for the investments they can make to save energy, save money, and improve environmental performance. This proposal will help bring our buildings into the 21st century while protecting the character and quality of life of our neighborhoods.

Sheridan-Hunts Point Land Use and Transportation Study

A Special Exhibit on the Sheridan-Hunts Point Land Use and Transportation Planning Study will be on display at 22 Reade Street, from 8 am to 6 pm, November 14 - December 23; the exhibit includes a virtual tour of the area and a scale model of the expressway. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
