Overview:
This transportation study was initiated in response to community concerns about existing and potential traffic congestion and safety issues with respect to traffic movements, and provides a comprehensive analysis of existing and potential future vehicular circulation, parking demand, public transit utilization, and pedestrian circulation patterns.
Based on the results of the existing and future condition analyses, problems have been identified and the following improvements have been recommended. Short-term recommendations include:
- Intersection Operation Improvements
- Parking Improvements
- Pedestrian Improvements
- Local Truck Route
Intermediate-term recommendations include:
- Traffic Calming
- Closure of an existing entrance ramp at the intersection of Bell Boulevard and 212th Street, and opening of a new entrance ramp opposite the Baybridge Commons shopping center
And long-term recommendations include
- Reconstruction of the interchange of the Cross Island Parkway at the intersection of Bell Boulevard and 212th Street
