Partnership
for the Future: A 197-a Plan for the Revitalization
of Bronx Community District #3.
Adopted by the city Council on November 12, 1992,
as modified by the City Planning Commission, the
plan outlines a community development strategy,
focusing on housing and zoning policy, to achieve
five broad goals:
- (1)
re-establish the district as a dynamic, viable
community;
- (2)
increase the district's population to 100,000
by the year 2000;
- (3)
provide a viable economic base through provision
of job training and creation of labor intensive
opportunities;
- (4)
maintain, develop and expand the district's
supporting infrastructure; and
- (5)
maintain parks and recreation areas throughout
the district.
