John Merolo is currently serving his second term on the New York City Planning Commission. He was originally appointed to the post in 2000 by Guy Molinari, the former Staten Island Borough President, and was reappointed by current Borough President James Molinaro in 2002.
Mr. Merolo has been involved in the real estate industry for over 20 years. He is the founder and president of Staten Island Real Estate, Inc. based in New York City, which is active in real estate investment and development in New York, New Jersey and Florida. Projects include land development, residential, commercial, office, and retail projects. Mr. Merolo is also the owner of Island Appraisal Service, which provides real estate appraisal, estate and mortgage lending services for land, residential and industrial property types. His clients include many of New York’s largest financial institutions.
