Alfred C. Cerullo III, Commissioner

Alfred C. Cerullo, III was appointed to the New York City Planning Commission in September 2004 by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.  Mr. Cerullo has broad experience in public service, having worked in city government since 1986 where he began as a legislative counsel.  From 1990 to 1994, as City Council Minority Leader, and  representative from Staten Island, he served on the City Council Land Use Committee. From 1994 until this appointment he served as Commissioner of the Department Consumer Affairs, Commissioner of the Department of Finance and as a Member of the New York City Campaign Finance Board.  In 1999, he became President/CEO of the Grand Central Partnership one of the world’s largest business improvement districts providing supplemental public safety, sanitation, capital improvement, horticultural, and visitor services to 70-square-blocks of the Midtown Manhattan area surrounding Grand Central Terminal.

Mr. Cerullo received Bachelors Degrees in English and American Studies as well as his law degree from St. John’s University and is a member of the bar in New York, New Jersey, California, and Washington, D.C.
