Who is Eligible: | Permanent civil service employees of the City of New York with current salaries of $81,000 or less are eligible. | Selection Criteria: | Public Service Award recipients are exceptional employees who have improved the efficiency and quality of services rendered to the people of New York City, enhanced the prestige of City service, and demonstrated dedication well beyond their job descriptions. | Who May Nominate: | An agency, supervisor, union or co-worker may nominate any employee. Nominations must be endorsed by the agency head. |

Applications by mail only will also be accepted. Who is Eligible - Parents: | At least one parent must be a permanent civil service employee with at least two years of continuous full-time service. Gross family income for 2010 (generally, the income from both parents) must be $110,000 or less. | Who is Eligible -High School Students: | High school students must graduate from a public or private high school in June 2011 or must have previously graduated, and must be accepted for admission as full-time students at a private or public college or university. Scores from the SAT or ACT must be submitted. | Who is Eligible - College students: | College students must have graduated previously from a public or private high school and must be attending or accepted for admission as full-time students at a private or public college or university. Scores from the SAT or ACT must be submitted. | Selection Criteria: | Selection is based on scholastic achievement, leadership and commitment, record of school and community activity and service, and SAT or ACT scores. | Who May Apply: | Student should apply. Both Student and Parent/guardian must sign the application. |
About the Hundred Year Association of New York Founded in 1927, The Hundred Year Association of New York is composed of professional, educational and charitable organizations that have been in continuous operation in New York City for over a century. The Association has honored career civil service employees since 1958. In addition, since 1971, the Association has awarded college scholarships to the children of city employees.
