NOTE: The Veterans’ Exam Fee Waiver will be available for all civil service exams having an application period that begins on or after March 7, 2012.

The waiver will not be available for exams with application periods that have already begun, such as the walk-in exams currently offered at the DCAS Computerized Testing Centers that began in February.

How to Apply for Exams 

Follow the instructions in the "How to Apply" section of the official Notice of Examination (NOE).

Applying Online

Apply online using our Online Application System (OASys) at www.nyc.gov/examsforjobs.  OASys accepts credit card, debit card or bank card payments or a public assistance ID number (see site for details). Online applicants receive a $5 discount.

Applying in Person

Visit one of our two Computerized Testing Center (CTC) locations at 2 Lafayette Street, Manhattan or 210 Joralemon St., Brooklyn. Get directions here

At the CTCs, all payment types and all fee waiver types are accepted.  If you want to pay by money order or submit documentation to have the fee waived, you must have your money order or documentation with you when you apply at a CTC.
