NYC Fleet is proud to work with the automotive high school programs at the NYC Department of Education. Through our partnership, students have the opportunity to learn about a variety of fleet programs and initiatives in NYC. These photos, most from the summers of 2016 and 2017, show some of these experiences. Students attended the annual NYC Fleet Show held each May in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. They toured NYC’s repair shop facilities including DSNY’s emissions testing lab and the DSNY and NYPD Central Repair Shops (CRS). They learned about vintage and specialized vehicles. In August 2016, DCAS, DOE and NYPD hosted an Intern Appreciation Breakfast which featured a solar car built by students at Tottenville High School. The Tottenville Solar Pirates enter the car in competitions and races.
