The 27th Annual Equipment and Vehicle Show included over 160 vendors, a record number, displaying a wide array of vehicles and fleet related products and services. The show especially highlighted vendors that can support NYC’s Vision Zero and Green Fleet initiatives. The pictures in this gallery represent many of the companies that participated.
Vision Zero related vendors displayed a variety of products to improve vehicle safety, including cameras, mirrors, early warning systems for collisions, back up alarms, vehicle event recorders, AVL systems, driver record tracking software, and truck side guards.
Green Fleet related displays included a hydrogen fuel-cell car, CNG and hybrid energy food carts, a variety of hybrid and fully electric vehicles, solar powered equipment, biodiesel and CNG delivery trucks, and emissions reduction and idle reduction technologies.
Several partner agencies showcased vehicles, including the Port Authority, Parks, NYPD, and DSNY. We welcomed students and staff from DOE’s Career Technical Education (CTE) automotive programs. NYC Fleet has a strong partnership with DOE CTE, working with student interns in the summer and throughout the school year. Several exhibitors at the show generously offered to work with student interns or provide educational opportunities. NYC Business Solutions tabled at the show to offer information about their programs. USDA, NY State DEC, Empire Clean Cities, and Greater Long Island Clean Cities all contributed to programming or displays at the show.
We will hold our 2nd Annual Vision Zero Fleets Forum on Thursday, November 5, at the Queens Theater. The 28th Annual Equipment and Vehicle Show will be in May 2016, exact date to be determined.
