Asset Management is responsible for maintaining one of the most extensive and prestigious public building portfolios in the country. Included in this portfolio are office buildings and courthouses, many of them designated historic landmarks. Asset Management manages the daily maintenance and operation and oversees any repairs to these buildings.
Other buildings under DCAS jurisdiction:
OEM Headquarters, Cadman Plaza, Brooklyn
DCAS Repair Shop, Kent Avenue, Brooklyn
DCAS Transportation Services, Brooklyn Navy Yard
DCAS Central Storehouse, Queens
Descriptions of some the landmarked buildings have been taken from The Guide to New York City Landmarks, published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., copyright © 1998 by New York City Landmarks Preservation Foundation, Inc. They are reprinted here with permission of the publisher and the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The Guide to New York City Landmarks can be purchased online through DCAS's CityStore.
Information has also be drawn from The Architecture of Public Justice, by Mary B. Dierickx. That document was commissioned by the Department of General Services, DCAS’s predecessor agency, and was published in 1993.
