• Please DO NOT use the Online License Renewal Service if you have already filed your renewal application by mail or in person.
• If you must change your premises address, you CANNOT file your renewal application online.
• Submitting your renewal application online does not mean that your license is automatically renewed.
• Garage licenses will expire March 31, 2013. You may not operate a garage after March 31 unless you have received your new license. Operation without a current license is subject to penalties.
• To process payment, you must use a major credit card. Convenience Fees apply.
• After completion of the online license renewal application, you must submit a copy of your insurance certificate to DCA.

Seven Easy Steps to File Your Garage
License Renewal Application Online:

Step 1:  Log on  

• Enter your CAMIS Number (located in your license renewal letter) and License Number on the first screen of DCA's Online License Renewal Service to get started. If you don't know your CAMIS number, please call 311 and ask for the service "Online Payment Assistance-DCA License Renewal." You will be transferred to DCA.

Step 2:  Confirm Your License Details and Contact Information

• If your telephone number is different from the number preprinted in the License Details box, please enter the correct number in the "New Telephone No." field.
• Please enter your e-mail address to receive confirmation that your online license renewal application was successfully submitted.
• If your mailing address is different from the address preprinted on the online form, please select "No" and update your mailing address following the steps provided.

Step 3:  Answer All Background Questions and Affirm Legal Requirements

• Complete the background questions by checking the appropriate boxes.
• Affirm the legal requirements by checking the agreement box.
• Enter your First and Last names, and your relationship to the business (e.g., owner, partner, director, etc.).
• Click the "Next" button.

Step 4:  Complete Insurance Information

• Complete the insurance information page, including name of the insurance provider, insurance certificate number, provider's contact information, policy limits, and policy expiration date. 

Step 5:  Submit Information and Enter Payment Details

• Please review all information to ensure it is correct, then click the "Submit" button ONCE ONLY. You will be directed to the payment page.
• Enter your payment information and click the "Submit" button ONCE ONLY.

Step 6:  Print Confirmation Number and Itemized Receipt

• A confirmation number and itemized receipt will appear at the end of the process. Print a copy for your records. 

Step 7:  Submit a Copy of Your Insurance Certificate

• After you submit your renewal application online, please submit to DCA a copy of the Insurance Certificate for your premises in ONE of the following ways:

  • Fax (718) 935-6486
     
• Once you have submitted required documents, you will receive a notification from DCA within 15 days. Please do NOT submit your license renewal application by mail or in person once you have successfully submitted your application online. Submitting duplicate applications will create delays in renewal of your license.
