Notice of Public Availability and Access to Records
In accordance with the requirements of 43 RCNY § 1-08 (a) implementing the New York State Freedom of Information Law, the following information relating to access to NYC Department of Consumer Affairs records is hereby made known:
- Procedures for Requesting and Inspecting Records
A request for inspection of records must be made in writing and indicate the nature, content, and date of the record in sufficient enough detail to enable its identification. Download a copy of the FOIL Request form and fax or email the form to the Department of Consumer Affairs (see contact information on the form).
Any record so requested shall be made available for inspection within a reasonable time after receipt of the request. You will be contacted to schedule an appointment to inspect and copy records, when available. Records may be inspected only in the presence of the Department’s Records Access Officer.
- Location and Time of Availability of Records
Records are available for public inspection and copying, upon appointment, on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at:

- Copying Fees
The fees for copying of records shall be:
a) .25 cents per page, OR
b) Actual costs of reproduction
