Create a Council Map

The NYC Districting Commission invites the public to participate in the districting process by using its online mapping tool. Through this website, the Commission will be able to receive and review district maps submitted by members of the public that have been drawn using the software.  This mapping tool is based on the same software that the Commission uses for its work.

Click on the link below to begin creating your own Council district plan. Registration is required. Once your registration is confirmed via email, you can start drawing a plan. You can save the progress on your district plan and continue at a future date.

Please note that the commission will be voting on February 6th. As such, alternative proposals will not be accepted after 12:00pm EST on this date.

If you need assistance with the online mapping tool, please reserve a time slot for the public resource room located at the Districting Commission’s office at 253 Broadway, 7th Floor, by emailing Justin Bassett at jbassett@districting.nyc.gov, or calling 212-442-6940.  A Districting Commission staff member will be on hand to assist you.
