ANNE SUTHERLAND FUCHS, Group President, Growth Brands Division, Digital
Ventures, J. C. Penney Company, Inc. is a highly experienced executive and
consultant to companies on branding and digital initiatives. She also serves as
a director of Gartner Inc., the information technology, research and advisory
company, as well as of Pitney Bowes, Inc., which provides software, hardware for
physical and digital communications channels. Before her consulting career, she
had been the CEO of Phillips, de Pury & Luxembourg, the auction house then
owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Before Phillips, she was with leading
publishing companies such as Hearst, Condé Nast, Hachette, and CBS. Ms. Fuchs
has received recognition and numerous awards including the Matrix Award for
Magazines by Women of Communications and Advertising Woman of the Year. She
created and chaired the Magazine and Print Committee for the United States
Information Agency. Also, she formed the first Woman's Board of the Madison
Square Boys and Girls Club, serving as President, then Chair. Having served as a
trustee of the Whitney Museum, she was also a member of the Chairman's Council
of the Museum. Graduating from New York University (BA- French Literature), she
received the Peabody Scholar Award at Western College. She also studied at the
Sorbonne, Institute of European Studies (Paris) and the University of Mexico
City, Institute of North American Studies (Mexico).
