Prenatal Care Assistance (PCAP) is a comprehensive prenatal care program that offers complete pregnancy care and other health services to women and teens who live in New York State and meet certain income guidelines. Health insurance is available for pregnant women regardless of their immigration status. Under PCAP, pregnant women receive prenatal health services, such as lab tests, HIV tests, nutrition screenings, and other services related to their pregnancy. Call 1-(800) 522-5006.
The Bureau of Maternal, Infant and Reproductive Health (BMIRH) promotes the health of New York City residents. BMIRH's goals are to:
- reduce infant and maternal mortality,
- prevent unintended and teen pregnancy, and
- eliminate disparities in perinatal and reproductive health.
