NEW YORK CITY, July 18 - I am extremely pleased that Mayor Bloomberg has written to the Commission regarding his thoughts on Charter Revision.

I am also proud of his decision to ask us not to apply our reform proposal for the 2005 municipal election, when he will run for reelection. By doing this he has demonstrated what I have know for sometime, that his support for nonpartisan elections is based on support of government reform and not self interest.
