Nurse Career Ladder Program

Nurse Career Ladders: Licensed Practical Nurse
Creates an eleven-month Licensed Practical Nurse program for low-income students and Health & Hospital Corporation employees.

Program Description
The Nurse Career Ladders program provides scholarships for income eligible New Yorkers to attend nurse training programs leading to employment at an HHC facility.

The New York City Health & Hospitals Corporation and the New York City Department of Education have partnered to offer an 11-month Licensed Practical Nurse training program.  Located at Goldwater Hospital's beautiful campus on Roosevelt Island, this program will accommodate 40 students per year.  Program runs from September through June.    

Eligibility: New Yorkers, ages 17 and above with a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must pass all required entrance exams and must meet the income eligibility requirements and must be authorized to work in the United States.

Partner Agency: New York City Health & Hospitals Corporation and the Department of Education.
