Nurse Career Ladder Program

Are you interested in becoming a Nurse?


Program Description 
The Nurse Career Ladder Program will provide scholarships for income eligible New York City residents to attend nurse training programs leading to employment at an HHC facility.

The Nurse Career Ladder Program offers two training opportunities at select facilities:


Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

HHC has partnered with local colleges and universities to offer a 4 year BSN/RN degree program.  Coming in September 2009, a newly renovated nursing school will open at the historical site of Kings County's first nursing school.  This program will accommodate 60 students per year. 

Program Criteria
This program is open to all NYC residents who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 17 years old

  • Must have a HS Diploma or GED

  • Must pass all required entrance exams

  • Must meet income eligibility requirements
